NewsKlaxons back indie radio with free showKlaxons, Dinosaur Jr., The Rapture and Annuals are set to give free performances as part of the Free Yr Radio campaign in the US. The concert series, which also includes The Ponys, Tapes 'N Tapes, Long Winters, Voxtrot and Rogue Wave, benefits non-commercial US radio stations that offer independent programming. Participating radio stations include WLUW (Chicago), KTRU (Houston), KEXP (Seattle), Y-Rock On XPN (Philadelphia), KZSC (Santa Cruz), 89.3 The Current (Minneapolis), WERS (Boston), WKNC (Raleigh/Durham), WBWC (Cleveland) and KGNU (Boulder). Klaxons will kick off the series with a performance on Sunday (April 15) at the Urban Outfitters in Chicago. Next up are The Ponys in Lawrence, Kansas on April 24. Dinosaur Jr. are set to play Boston on June 11. The tour will hit 12 Urban Outfitters locations across the country, with dates in Los Angeles, Denver, Cleveland and New Haven, Connecticut to be determined. The seventeen-track album, released on November 13, includes their collaboration with Lou Reed, 'Tranquilize', and their cover of Joy Division's 'Shadowplay'.
